If you notice weak suction, unusual noises, leaks, frequent priming issues, error codes, or your pool water is getting harder to keep clear, it’s a good sign something is off. We can inspect your pump, filter, chlorinator and valves, then recommend the most cost-effective repair or replacement. In many cases, regular servicing and preventative maintenance can catch small issues early and stop them turning into major (and more expensive) problems.
It depends on your filter type and how quickly it loads up with debris. A good rule is to backwash when you notice reduced water flow, the filter is working harder than normal, or your water clarity starts to drop. If you’re unsure, we can help you identify your filter’s normal operating condition and recommend a simple backwash routine that suits your pool and season.
A typical service includes skimming the surface, brushing walls and steps, vacuuming and emptying skimmer and pump baskets. We also complete a practical equipment inspection—checking pump operation and prime, valves/unions for leaks, and the condition/operation of your chlorinator or dosing system and cartridge filter clean or media filter backwash. If you use a robot cleaner or suction cleaner, we’ll clean and inspect it, making sure it’s running correctly. Finally, we perform a full water chemistry analysis and dose chemicals as needed to keep your pool sanitised, balanced and safe.
As a general guide, aim for enough runtime to turn over the volume of pool water at least once (often 6–10 hours/day in summer and 4–8 hours/day in winter, depending on pool size and equipment). We can calculate a more accurate run-time based on your pool volume, pump and filter sizing, bather load, and season.
Cloudy water is usually caused by poor filtration, unbalanced chemistry (especially pH/alkalinity), low sanitiser, or fine debris/algae starting to bloom. We’ll test the water chemistry, check your filter and chlorinator performance, and correct the cause so the water clarity returns to crystal clear.
Recurring algae issues can be caused by poor circulation, dirty filters, incorrect pH, low sanitiser, phosphates, equipment failures, or not dosing a high enough chlorine concentration to achieve an effective super chlorination level for long enough. We’ll diagnose the underlying issue and set up a plan that prevents repeat outbreaks.
